A toothbrush whose handle is 100% bamboo and whose bristles are made of castor oil-based bioplastic – so they are free of BPA and petroleum derivatives. The soft bristles are gentle on sensitive gums and teeth, yet clean thoroughly; the handle is ergonomic, pleasant to the touch, and coloured with solvent-free AURO natural paint.
Bamboo is a fast-growing plant that can be grown with minimal water requirements and without chemicals, which makes it a true alternative to plastic toothbrushes. The manufacturer donates 10% of its profits to the water projects of Viva con Agua e.V.
The colour of the handle varies and cannot be chosen.
Why is it a good choice?
- 100% bamboo handle, compostable
- Castor oil-based bristles: free of BPA and petroleum derivatives
- Soft bristles – for sensitive gums and teeth
- Ergonomic handle, pleasant to the touch
- Solvent-free, coloured with natural paint
- Vegan; 10% of the manufacturer's profits support water projects
Use and care:
Use it in the usual way, twice a day. After washing, shake off the water and leave it to dry standing upright in a well-ventilated place – the bamboo handle should not stand in water. It is worth replacing a toothbrush every 2–3 months.
How to dispose of it correctly?
- Break off the head of the toothbrush together with the bristles.
- Put the head and the bristles in the household (general) waste – they break down much more slowly.
- You can put the bamboo handle in the organic waste or the compost.
Good to know about bioplastic bristles:
Castor oil-based bioplastic breaks down much faster than crude oil-based plastic, but complete decomposition can still take decades – which is why it is not compostable. Its greatest advantage is not fast decomposition, but that it is made from a renewable raw material, and growing castor does not compete with food production.
