Taurine, the free amino acid
Taurine is a naturally occurring sulfur-containing free amino acid, which means it is not used to build proteins (non-proteinogenic amino acid) and is found as a free amino acid inside cells, in the mitochondria.
Dosage:
Children: 1.5 g of powder per day (about half a teaspoon); adults: 3 g of powder (1 teaspoon), dissolved in water, fruit juice, or not-too-hot tea or coffee, preferably on an empty stomach, taken in 2–3 portions. Recommended to take approx. 60 minutes before sports activity, as this is when its concentration in blood plasma reaches its maximum.
