They say a cold lasts a week with medicine and seven days without… But a well-blended, warm herbal tea can be a pleasant companion during these days and traditionally helps you get through the symptoms more easily.
Sneezing, runny nose, scratchy throat? UKKO Cold Relief Tea Blend is traditionally recommended for milder, sniffly symptoms, thanks to the sweat-inducing tradition of linden and ginger and the mucus-loosening tradition of elderflower.
Which tea when? For a milder cold with a runny nose, this Cold Relief Tea Blend is the right choice; for more chesty symptoms with phlegm and coughing, our Flu Tea Blend may be the better fit.
Worth keeping at home: when you feel the first signs of a cold – a scratchy throat, a stuffy nose, tiredness – make a mug of warm tea and rest. It tastes pleasant, so you'll happily sip it as prevention on cool days too.

Suggested use:
Preparing the tea
- Bring water to a boil, then let it cool slightly – the ideal temperature is about 80 °C.
- 1 heaped teaspoon of tea (2–2.5 g) is enough for one mug (approx. 500 ml) – using more won't give better results.
- Put the blend in a tea strainer, pour the water over it, cover and let it steep for 10–15 minutes.
- Delicious as it is; if you sweeten it, preferably use honey.
As a course, 2–3 mugs a day on sniffly days. Drinking it fresh and hot brings out its sweat-inducing, mucus-loosening tradition better, and it feels good for the body too. After no more than 10 days, take a 2-week break. Drink enough fluids alongside the sweat-inducing effect!
IMPORTANT – caution and contraindications: The blend contains several herbs that require caution. Due to sage and cinnamon: not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding; due to sage, it is also not recommended in case of epilepsy or hormonal disorders, and should only be consumed for a short time as a course (max. ~2 weeks continuously). Frequent, high-dose consumption of linden flower may rarely strain the heart – not recommended for those with heart disease. Lemon balm requires caution in case of thyroid complaints. If you take medication regularly (e.g. blood pressure, sedative or thyroid medication), consult your doctor before use. Do not consume if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.
If symptoms don't ease within a few days, or if you develop a high fever, shortness of breath or severe symptoms, see a doctor! This tea is complementary, natural support and does not replace medical care.
