For normal blood formation
Main features of WTN Folate complex – mini capsules
- The main active ingredient of WTN Folate complex is present in natural glucosamine folate salt (L-5-MTHF) form.
- Besides folate, it also contains vitamin B12 (in methylcobalamin form), which contributes to normal red blood cell formation.
- The product is free from additives and preservatives and contains no synthetic folic acid.
Folate contributes to:
- normal homocysteine metabolism,
- the maintenance of normal psychological function,
- the reduction of tiredness and fatigue,
- normal blood formation,
- the proper functioning of the immune system,
- normal amino acid synthesis,
- cell division.
Folic acid, dietary folate and methylfolate
Folic acid and folate are often mentioned as synonyms, but there is a biological difference between them.
- Folic acid (pteroyl-L-glutamic acid) is the synthetic form of vitamin B9.
- Dietary folate is the form that occurs in natural sources, in foods.
In the body, these forms can participate in folate metabolism through several conversion steps.
One of the biologically active forms of vitamin B9 is methylfolate, which enters folate metabolism directly. WTN Folate complex also contains this form.
Folic acid
Folic acid (pteroyl-L-glutamic acid) is the synthetic form of vitamin B9. In the body it is converted through several steps into the biologically active form, methylfolate. This process takes place with varying efficiency from person to person.
The MTHFR (methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase) gene regulates the functioning of the enzyme that carries out the conversion. Genetic variations occurring in a significant part of the population can affect the efficiency of the conversion, so in some people the active form is produced more slowly.
Some folic acid may temporarily circulate unprocessed in the blood, which the liver eventually breaks down, but this process is relatively slow.
Dietary folate
Folate found in foods is also converted into methylfolate through several steps, with the help of the MTHFR enzyme. This conversion can vary in efficiency from person to person.
The absorption of dietary folate in the gut is generally efficient, but the conversion process is still needed in the body to produce the biologically active form.
Folate derived from plant extracts similarly requires MTHFR enzyme activity, so the efficiency of conversion to the active form from this source may also depend on individual factors.
Methylfolate
Methylfolate is one of the biologically active forms of vitamin B9 (folate). In dietary supplements it may occur in the form of various salts (e.g. calcium or glucosamine salt), which provide a stable solution for supplementing the vitamin.
Which micronutrients play a role in folate metabolism?
Which micronutrients play a role in folate metabolism?
Folate metabolism is a complex process to which several enzymes and micronutrients contribute. According to the literature, these include vitamins B2, B6 and B12, zinc, and certain amino acids (e.g. serine, glycine). Together they ensure the proper functioning of the folate cycle.
The individual vitamins and minerals become active forms in the body through various conversions (e.g. vitamin B2 is converted from riboflavin into its active form, which also requires zinc). The efficiency of conversion can vary from person to person.

Directions for use:
- Recommended amount: 1 mini capsule a day, preferably half an hour before the first main meal; in case of a sensitive digestive system, with a meal.
Warning:
- Consuming dietary supplements is not a substitute for a balanced, varied, mixed diet and a healthy lifestyle.
- Do not exceed the recommended daily amount.
- Keep the product out of the reach of children, in a dry, cool, dark place.
- If you are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the product's ingredients, do not use the product! - It is strongly recommended to take dietary supplements separately from coffee! It is best to take them at least half an hour before drinking coffee, or at least 2 hours after.
- Taking dietary supplements with milk-based products is not recommended!
- If you take several dietary supplements, consult a professional about the order in which to take them so that the active ingredients don't cancel each other out.
- Use as a course is recommended, unless your doctor or naturopath has advised otherwise.
