Natracare organic cotton tampons – regular, 20 pcs

Most tampons are made from a blend of rayon and non-organic cotton, which is usually bleached with chlorine and not infrequently even dyed. Rayon absorbs quickly, but it can also dry out the vagina's natural protective layer, the mucous membrane. In comparison, this tampon consists of a single raw material: 100% organic cotton, nothing else.

Completely chlorine-free, it contains no rayon, plastic, dyes, fragrances or petroleum-derived absorbency-enhancing substances. No pesticides are used during cultivation either. It expands widthwise and can be removed easily with the help of the organic cotton string. Because it is 100% cotton, it is biodegradable and compostable.

According to an independent laboratory study by the New York University Medical School, using 100% organic cotton tampons may reduce the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome compared with tampons that also contain rayon: the bacterium that causes the syndrome did not appear in the Natracare tampons tested, whereas it did in all of the tampons containing rayon.
