A classic, quality tea for lovers of traditional flavors
Sometimes there's no need to reinvent anything. Black tea is the most consumed tea in the world – not because it's trendy, but because it works: it wakes you up in the morning, pulls you together in the afternoon, and remains pleasant company all the while.
Black tea comes from the same plant (Camellia sinensis) as green or white tea; the difference lies in the processing. The picked leaves are withered, rolled and then left to oxidize fully. During this process, theaflavins and thearubigins develop, giving black tea its characteristic deep amber color and fuller flavor.
Energy and calm – in the same cup
This is no poetic exaggeration but the combined effect of two compounds in the tea leaf. Caffeine (also called theine in tea) invigorates, while the amino acid L-theanine softens this effect. That's why many people feel tea wakes them up differently from coffee: not in a sudden burst, but more evenly.
50 g of loose-leaf black tea, 100% natural – with no added flavorings, additives or sugar.
Great on its own, with milk, a slice of lemon or honey. And cold-brewed, it's the simplest base for homemade iced tea.
Effects and benefits:
Active compounds
Caffeine (theine), L-theanine, polyphenols – theaflavins, thearubigins, catechins – tannins, trace minerals.

- Versatile – hot, with milk, with lemon or as iced tea

Responsible consumption: black tea is a beverage for enjoyment that contains caffeine. Consumed in moderation during the day, it fits into a balanced diet. If you take medication regularly or are under long-term medical treatment, consult your doctor or pharmacist before regular consumption.
Suggested use:
Preparing the tea
- Bring water to a boil, then let it cool to 90–95 °C.
- Use one heaped teaspoon of black tea per mug (250–300 ml), or two per half liter.
- Let it steep for 2–5 minutes, then strain.
Recommended consumption
How long should you steep it? 2 minutes gives a lighter, milder tea; 5 minutes a fuller, more astringent one. Most of the caffeine is released in the first few minutes; longer steeping mainly brings out the tannins, which give the astringent aftertaste.
How to serve it? On its own, with milk, lemon or honey. For iced tea, brew it as usual, let it cool, then serve with ice cubes.
Storage: protected from light, tightly closed, in a cool, dry place, away from strong-smelling foods, as tea leaves easily absorb odors.
This tea contains caffeine (theine). Therefore, we do not recommend it for children, and it's best not to drink it in the late afternoon or evening, as it may disturb your sleep. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the recommended maximum daily caffeine intake is 200 mg – discuss this with your health visitor or doctor. If you are sensitive to caffeine, start with a small amount.
IMPORTANT – when should you be careful? The tannins in black tea can inhibit the absorption of plant-based iron, so drink it between meals; in case of iron deficiency or iron supplementation, leave a 1–2 hour gap. Drunk on an empty stomach, it may cause discomfort for people with sensitive stomachs. In case of anxiety, sleep disorders, heart rhythm disorders or high blood pressure, caffeine may intensify symptoms. If you take medication regularly or are under long-term medical treatment, consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.
UKKO Black Tea is a food product; its use does not replace necessary medical treatment! Not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to caffeine. Results may vary from person to person.
