When your doctor says: change your lifestyle

Many people first discover in their mid-forties that their reading is higher than it should be. At this point, doctors often don't prescribe medication right away but recommend lifestyle changes – less salt, more exercise, regular monitoring, possibly temporary medication as well – but the emphasis stays on everyday habits.

This tea was made for exactly this period. It is not a medicine and does not replace one, but it is a pleasant, sugar-free daily routine that reminds you that you are taking care of yourself. A mug in the morning and one in the evening: two calm moments in a daily routine that also has room for checking your blood pressure.

High blood pressure is a widespread condition; in Hungary it affects one in three adults. The most important thing to know about it is that it usually causes no symptoms: it doesn't hurt and you can't feel it. That's exactly why regular monitoring and medical check-ups are irreplaceable.

Who is it for?

  • those whose doctor has recommended lifestyle changes and who want to make them a daily routine
  • those building heart-healthy habits – less salt, more exercise, regular monitoring
  • those looking for a sugar-free, caffeine-free drink for their daily fluid intake
  • older adults who already take care of themselves and would like to add a pleasant daily habit

UKKO High Blood Pressure Tea Blend consists of eight carefully selected herbs. It is not a medicine and does not replace one, but many people like to make it part of their heart-healthy lifestyle, alongside the treatment recommended by their doctor.

120 g of tea blend, approx. 52 servings. 100% natural and pure, contains no artificial additives, preservatives or sweetened ingredients.

When during the day should I drink the tea?

2 mugs a day, in the morning and evening, after meals.

Can it be combined with medication?

Only after consulting your doctor. This is not a formality: the hibiscus in the blend can intensify the effect of blood pressure medications, and hawthorn can interact with heart medications. If you take blood pressure or heart medication, be sure to talk to your doctor before drinking the tea regularly.

How long can it be consumed?

As a course for three months, then take a two-week break. Continue regular blood pressure monitoring and medical check-ups while drinking the tea.

Who is this tea for?

Primarily for those whose doctor has recommended lifestyle changes and who want to turn them into a daily habit. The tea can be part of this routine, alongside regular monitoring, reducing salt and exercise.

Does it replace medication?

No. Treating high blood pressure is a medical task, and medication has been proven to reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack. This tea is a food – a companion, not a substitute.

IMPORTANT – never stop taking your blood pressure medication! High blood pressure is usually symptomless: just because you feel well doesn't mean your blood pressure isn't high. Stopping your medication or reducing it on your own can lead to stroke and heart attack. If you feel you want to change your treatment, do so only together with your doctor. Measure your blood pressure regularly and attend your check-ups – no tea can replace this.

IMPORTANT – when should you see a doctor immediately? If you experience a severe headache, visual disturbance, chest pain, shortness of breath, speech difficulty or one-sided weakness, or if your readings are persistently very high – these require urgent medical care.

UKKO High Blood Pressure Tea Blend is a food product; its use does not replace necessary medical treatment! Not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the blend. Results may vary from person to person. The effects of the tea are based on scientific literature on the herbal ingredients and folk medicine experience – but it is always important to make the best decision for your health!

Effects and benefits:

UKKO High Blood Pressure Tea Blend consists of 8 carefully selected herbs.

  • Antioxidant compounds – hibiscus contains anthocyanins, while bilberry and blackcurrant leaf contain flavonoids
  • Traditional heart herbs – European tradition has used hawthorn for centuries for mild, nervous heart complaints
  • Caffeine-free – thanks to the rooibos base, it can be enjoyed in the evening too without disturbing sleep
  • Sugar-free, calorie-free – pleasant-tasting even without sweetening, a good alternative to sugary soft drinks
  • A delicious, 100% natural, additive-free tea
  • Part of your daily routine – two mugs of tea in the morning and evening fit easily into a routine that also has room for checking your blood pressure

What can you do for your blood pressure?

These are the steps doctors also recommend – alongside medication, not instead of it:

  • Measure regularly. With a home blood pressure monitor, always at the same time, at rest. Keep a log and take it to your doctor.
  • Watch your salt. Reducing daily salt intake is one of the most effective lifestyle steps; most hidden salt comes from processed foods, bread and cold cuts.
  • Exercise regularly. A few times a week at moderate intensity – even brisk walking counts.
  • Weight, alcohol, smoking. All three directly affect blood pressure.
  • Sleep and stress. Chronic lack of sleep and tension also raise blood pressure.

These steps do the most for your blood pressure. A mug of tea can have a place in this routine too: in the morning and evening, a calm moment that reminds you that you're taking care of yourself.

About the ingredients:

  • Blackcurrant leaf – a flavonoid-rich leaf, a traditionally used herb
  • Hibiscus – an anthocyanin-rich flower with a tart taste; the signature ingredient of the blend
  • Rooibos – a caffeine-free base with antioxidant compounds
  • Hawthorn – a plant traditionally used for mild, nervous heart complaints
  • Lemongrass – a plant with a citrusy aroma, traditionally calming
  • Bilberry – a source of anthocyanins and flavonoids
  • Calendula – a traditionally used flower rich in carotenoids
  • Eyebright – a traditionally used herb

Suggested use:

How to prepare it

  • Dosage: 1 teaspoon of tea blend per 0.5 liters of water.
  • Steeping: 10–15 minutes, covered, in water at approx. 80 °C.
  • Flavoring: pleasant on its own, but can be sweetened to taste.

Recommended consumption

2 mugs a day (morning and evening), after meals. As a course for three months, then a two-week break. Continue regular blood pressure monitoring and medical check-ups while drinking the tea.

IMPORTANT – drug interactions. If you take BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATION, hibiscus can intensify its effect, which may cause an excessive drop in blood pressure, dizziness or falls – be sure to consult your doctor before regular consumption. If you take HEART MEDICATION (especially digoxin), medical consultation is also required because of the hawthorn. Ask your doctor as well if you are on diuretic or anticoagulant treatment.

NOT RECOMMENDED: during pregnancy and breastfeeding – both hibiscus and calendula are contraindicated at this time. Not recommended for those under 18. Use with caution if you have low blood pressure. Calendula belongs to the daisy family (Asteraceae), so cross-allergy is possible in case of ragweed, chamomile or chrysanthemum allergy. Not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the blend.
